SECO seminar in Montevideo

On 26 May 2016, SECO organised its first technical seminar in Montevideo!

This seminar was intended for the various professional stakeholders in the construction sector, both from the public as well as the private sector, with interest in mitigating risk from their project through project management at technical and insurance level.

The history of building is unfortunately like the history of success and failure. The question is however if we learn anything from our failures in the past? How do we ensure the transparent introduction of the lessons learnt from a previous project into the next and make the building process more efficient and cost effective?

How does South America and in particular Uruguay fit in this respect in the picture of global construction? Is it anything different? What can we possibly learn from the outside world?

Those issues were addressed by five eminent speakers from Uruguay and abroad:

  • Daniel Ferreira, Civil Engineer (FTV INGENIERÍA)
  • Pedro Monterroso, Loss Adjustor, Risk Engineer
  • Sebastián Solari, Faculty of Engineering, IMFIA, University of the Republic
  • Ariel Álvarez Gebelin, Technical Director, GAS SAYAGO
  • David Martinez Lorente, Representative International Projects, SECO
