SECO GROUP is expanding its activities in Belgium & in Europe and is therefore looking for an enthusiastic, ambitious and hands-on individual to join the company as an accounting/consolidation champion and team manager.

Your role as accounting manager

You develop, maintain and actively promote with the support of a small (international) team, appropriate and state of the art accounting and consolidation processes & tools.

Your tasks & responsibilities:

  • Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close of the different legal entities in accordance with Local GAAP.
  • Ensure a clean and timely year-end audit. Monitors follow-up of audit recommendations.
  • Ensure the integrity of the accounting operations, segregation of Duties and optimization of end-to-end processes.
  • Establish & maintain & communicates group accounting policies and procedures.
  • Implement, in close collaboration with the Group Business controller, the monthly consolidation cycle (IFRS/Belgian Gaap,..) of all legal entities (statutory view).
  • Act as the project owner for the creation of consolidated group accounts in IFRS (implementation 2018) . Once established, takes responsibility for the consolidated group accounts.
  • Follow on a weekly basis all treasury operations, including liquidity management, intercompany financing and closing activities.
  • Implement a monthly cash reporting with treasury KPI’s for the group and per entity
  • Manage & supervise all tax applications (direct & indirect) of the different legal entities.
  • Manages in close contact with the CFO all Tax-Vat aspects for the group (including transfer pricing,..) and act as first point of contact for the audits.
  • Provides direction, leadership and guidance to accounting team (3 accountants and 1 external office).
  • Assists in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department.
  • Provides training to new and existing staff as needed.
  • Handles personnel issues relating to staff conflicts, absenteeism, performance issues, etc. 
    Works with each direct report to establish goals and objectives for each year and monitors and advises on the progress to enhance the professional development of staff.

Your profile:

  • You’re professionally fluent in Dutch, French and English. Any additional language is an asset;
  • You have an university degree in Economics or Commercial Engineering or equivalent experience
  • You have 5 to 10 years of experience as an hands-on accounting manager, consolidation analyst,  audit manager preferably within a multi-legal entity & multi-national environment;
  • You have a very good written and oral communication skills;
  • You have a high level of discretion, empathy and confidentiality;
  • You’re proactive, positive, problem-solver;
  • You have an analytical mind with strong organizational and time management skills, thrives when put under pressure, able to juggle a wide range of different tasks;
  • You’re flexible and willing to work overtime during peak times and/or when deadlines are close (no “9-to-5” job);
  • You’re independent but also team-player;
  • You like frequent contact with people
  • You’re computer literate, experience with MS Office programs and accounting packages
  • You want to contribute to a performing team in a small growing international company
