The project is part of the reconstruction of the railway network in Sri Lanka, destroyed by the tsunami in 2004. It involves the construction of 3 truss bridges with a span of 120 ft and 60 ft, and 4 plate girder bridges with a span between 103 ft and 39 ft. The combined total weight of the bridges is 540 tons.


SECO's assignment consists in the design review of the seven bridges and the technical inspection during the manufacturing of the bridges in the workshop of IEMANTS Steel Constructions in Belgium.
